Dr. Kanika Verma

Dr. Kanika Verma is a Scientist C (Non-medical) at the ICMR-National Institute of Child Health Research, New Delhi, with over 12 years of research experience in structural bioinformatics, computer-aided drug design, network pharmacology and molecular epidemiology. She has research experience at ICMR institutes (NITHR, NIMR, NICPR) and extensive international experience, including two postdoctoral fellowships at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, in structural and computational biology and in natural products for neuroprotection and anti-ageing. She earned her PhD in Bioinformatics from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University, where she studied paclitaxel resistance and therapeutic leads against tubulin. Her research uses molecular docking, molecular dynamics simulations and virtual screening to identify and repurpose synthetic and natural-product compounds for cancer, malaria and neurodegenerative disorders. She has authored over 50 research articles and book chapters, was an invited speaker at the SIGMA-1 Europe Symposium, Spain (2025), and has received Best Oral and Best Poster awards at national and international meetings.
