MRHRU - Khag Kashmir
The Model Rural Health Research Unit (MRHRU), Khag was established under the flagship initiative of the Department of Health Research (DHR), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, under the mentorship of Indian Council of Medical Research - National Institute of Child Health Research (ICMR-NICHR), formerly ICMR-National Institute of Pathology (ICMR-NIP), New Delhi, and in linkage with Department of Community Medicine, Government Medical College Srinagar J&K.
Khag lies in the Himalayan foothills of the Pir Panjal Range, in the Budgam district of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, India. The tehsil headquarters is the town of Khag, which also encompasses the Model Rural Health Research Unit (MRHRU) Khag serving the surrounding rural population.
