Dr. Shraddha Chakraborty
Dr. Shraddha Chakraborty is a Scientist-B (Non-medical) at the ICMR National Institute of Child Health Research, New Delhi, working at the intersection of public health, genomics, and clinical diagnostics to enable biomarker discovery and develop accessible healthcare innovations for children and adolescents. She previously served as a DST-INSPIRE Faculty at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, where she worked on a miniaturized droplet-based platform for 3D cell screening and therapeutic discovery. She obtained her PhD from CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, New Delhi, studying a novel type 2 diabetes GWAS signal in the Indian population. She has worked as the lead author for multiple large-scale studies during PhD, on nutritional, biochemical, genetic, and socioeconomic determinants of adolescent health in India. She pursued postdoctoral research at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany, developing advanced on-chip technologies for translational applications, and later contributed to a rapid molecular diagnostic assay for antimicrobial resistance in Helicobacter pylori at CSIR-IGIB. With over 20 peer-reviewed publications, a European patent, and recognitions including DST-INSPIRE Faculty Fellowship, MK Bhan Young Researcher Fellowship (DBT), and ISHG Young Scientist Award, her work integrates molecular biology, cross-sectional studies and diagnostics to deliver scalable, cost-effective solutions for national child and adolescent health priorities.
