Dr. Aniket Patankar is a Scientist-B (Non-medical) at the ICMR National Institute of Child Health Research (NICHR), New Delhi. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Mumbai, with his doctoral research conducted at the ICMR National Institute for Research on Women’s Health (NIRWoH), Mumbai. His doctoral work focused on the epigenetic regulation of male infertility, with particular emphasis on the role of testis-specific histones in sperm function. During his tenure at NIRWoH, he also contributed to the development of a microfluidic device for chemotaxis-based selection of high-quality sperm. In addition to his academic experience, he has contributed to industrial research involving the design and development of probe-based multiplex PCR diagnostic kits for various diseases.

Dr. Patankar completed his postdoctoral training at the University of Kansas Medical Center, USA where his research focused on epitranscriptomic regulation in trophoblast stem cells and placental biology.

He is a recipient of several prestigious recognitions, including the Prof. N.R. Moudgal Young Scientist Award (2024), and has been awarded national fellowships from CSIR, DBT, and ICMR. He has published in high-impact scientific journals and possesses expertise in molecular biology, proteomics, genomics, and epigenomics.

His current research interests focus on understanding epitranscriptomic mechanisms underlying placental development, as well as advancing innovations in in-vitro diagnostics.
