Dr. Shruti Sharma

Dr. Shruti Sharma is a dedicated Pathologist-scientist with over two decades of experience in Pathology, currently serving as Scientist E at ICMR–NICHR. My expertise spans Histopathology and Cytopathology, with focused research interests in Cardiac pathology & Dermatopathology.

Her academic and research journey has been driven by a commitment to understanding disease mechanisms of Rheumatic Atrial Fibrillation at molecular and tissue levels and translating these insights into clinically relevant diagnostics and biomarkers. She has led and contributed to multiple funded projects, particularly in Rheumatic heart disease and Atrial fibrillation, utilizing Proteomics, Metabolomics and molecular approaches to identify novel diagnostic and prognostic markers.

With more than 100 publications and extensive experience in mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students, she is deeply invested in capacity building and interdisciplinary research.

Her work continues to focus on innovative, patient-centred research aimed at improving disease detection, prognostication, and therapeutic outcomes.
