Dr. Sachin Desh is a researcher working at the intersection of mathematical modelling, computational biology, and multi-omics data integration. His work focuses on developing quantitative and mechanistic frameworks to understand the behaviour of complex biological systems in health and disease. He utilizes systems biology, network biology, and AI/ML/DL tools to derive meaningful biological insights from complex multi-omics datasets. His major research interest lies in paediatric health, with applications in inflammatory diseases, newborn screening, child growth and nutrition, and paediatric non-communicable diseases. He is particularly interested in developing mechanistic and digital twin frameworks to understand heterogeneous disease trajectories and support early interventions. Currently affiliated with ICMR, Dr. Desh is actively involved in newborn screening programmes and the MRHRU Bhunga community health cohort, giving his research a strong public health dimension. He is keen on collaborative research that bridges molecular biology with clinical and population-level decision-making in child health and development, and on applying computational approaches to public health laboratory medicine, especially in resource-limited community settings.
